The Mission Field Has Moved

If you would have told the early church that one day the Gospel would travel through phones, be seen by millions at once, and reach unreached people groups without ever stepping foot on a plane… I think they would’ve called it a miracle.

And maybe that’s exactly what it is.

We are living in a time when the mission field is digital, and the harvest is abundant.

As someone who works every day with faith-based entrepreneurs, churches, authors, and nonprofits through Luminaire Media Solutions, I’ve seen firsthand how purpose-driven content can shift atmospheres, reach hearts, and spark real transformation—one video, one post, one testimony at a time.

Let me break this down…

There are more than 5 billion social media users around the world today. Let that sink in: 63% of the global population is scrolling, seeking, and searching every single day.

That’s not just a statistic. That’s opportunity!

Not to go viral. But to go vertical—pointing people to Jesus.

Recently, I had the privilege of creating a brand video for an author’s Amazon best-seller children’s book titled “The Unexpected Guest” written by April Foster. What started as a sweet, faith-based story about a caterpillar’s transformation soon became so much more to me through the process of creating the video.

Through storytelling, B-roll footage, and voiceovers, this wasn’t just about promoting a product—but sharing a message of hope, patience, and trust in God’s timing.

What impacted me most was realizing how God can take something as simple as a short video—less than four minutes—and use it to minister to the hearts of both children and adults.

Comments like “The Unexpected Guest is such a charming book for even an adult who is a kid at heart. Even better is the story is true. There is love, life, curiosity, tenacity, patience, and kindness exemplified as well as little life lessons tucked away here and there in the book.”

That’s when it hit me again: 🎯 This is what digital ministry looks like. It’s subtle, creative, spirit-led, and deeply impactful.

YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook… these aren’t just platforms. They’re pulpits, when used with intention and prayer.

According to Barna Group, 80% of young adults explore spiritual content online before ever stepping foot into a church.

People are asking deep, soul-level questions online. Will your content be there when they do?

Faith-based content doesn’t have to be loud to be life-changing. A voiceover with Scripture. A testimony. A moment of reflection. A reminder of God’s love.

Pew Research Center reports that 42% of U.S. Christians consume spiritual content weekly via YouTube and podcasts.

Let that encourage you: There’s a hunger—and it’s digital.

Powerful stories go viral not because of clever editing, but because they carry truth and transformation.

And we’ve got the greatest story ever told.

Personal and emotional content receives 3x more engagement than promotional posts (Sprout Social, 2022).

If you’re a Christian leader, coach, author, entrepreneur, or nonprofit—this is your moment. The scroll needs more light. More truth. More voices who speak life.

Social media isn’t just a marketing tool. It’s a ministry opportunity, and the reach is limitless when it’s fueled by the Spirit.

🙌 If you’re ready to step boldly into digital evangelism but aren’t sure how—I’d love to help. That’s what we do at Luminaire Media Solutions. We amplify Kingdom voices through social media strategies, video storytelling, and purpose-driven branding.

Marketing With Purpose. Messaging with Light.

  1. Oh my. I have personally known and walked with April on this exciting journey since the beginning of the caterpillar journey. She was in one of my small groups when the flowers came for her birthday. I love watching what God has done with her energy and creative flow. Holy Spirit is using her story, her life and her ‘ yes’.
